How to add a Pinterest button to your blog (blogger)

Ok, you're on pinterest, and you click a pin and it brings it up on a blog page. You think "Well, I have a blog, and a pinterest...why don't I add a 'pin it' button to my blog?" Well, you look it up and you should see all these numbers and letters and think it's rocket science. I thought the same thing at first, but I later figured out that all this conglomeration of letters and numbers is called an HTML code. These codes can be VERY difficult to make, so luckily, it is already made out for us. Tip - DO NOT add spaces or change anything about the HTML code unless instructed to do so. As I said, these codes are very sensitive and it is easy to mess up.
Here are the directions to adding a Pin It Button to your blog!

First, I have to give credit where credit is due to our sweet friends here at Blogger Sentral  because they helped us by giving us AWESOME info on how to add the Pin It Button. Being completely honest here, the first time I didn't understand it, but that's ok. Geniuses don't always get things the first time LOL! Totally Kiddingq

Here's how you do it...

Step 1: You go to your blogger and you should see, at the top right hand corner where it says 'Design' , click on that.

Step 2: Once you've clicked on it, it should bring up a bunch of options for you to click on. Alright, don't give up on me now, lol. Click on 'Template', it should be the one next to the last selection, if of course you are on the updated version of blogger.

Step 3: Once you've clicked 'Template' , you should see an option labeled 'Edit HTML', Click on it.

Step 4: Now is where the fun begins....Once you've clicked on it, at the top of the window that just popped up, there should be a box that you can check labeled 'Expand Widget Templates' Check that box.

Step 5: Now, if you are a Mac user, press Command F on your keyboard
IF YOU ARE A WINDOWS USER: PRESS THE KEYS: CONTROL F.

A little search box should appear in the top right hand corner.

Copy and Paste this code in the search box:  <data:post.body/>

When you press search, it should highlight the same code on the page. Move your courser to the end of the code and press the enter key.

Step 6: Copy and Paste this code AFTER the code you just searched for.

<a data-pin-config="none" data-pin-do="buttonBookmark" href="//pinterest.com/pin/create/button/"><img src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/PinExt.png" /></a>
<script src="//assets.pinterest.com/js/pinit.js"></script>

Next press 'Done' and up at the top, 'apply to blog'

It will not show the pin it button on your home of your blog, but if you click onthe post, it will show it at the bottom.

Thank you for viewing! God Bless!
